Terms of Service

1. Introduction and acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of The Mental Edge website and application, operated under the trade name The Mental Edge by Ankrah Creative Solutions, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered in the Netherlands.

By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using The Mental Edge, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use The Mental Edge. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Service description

The Mental Edge is a software-as-a-service trading journal and performance-analysis tool. Features may include, depending on your subscription:

• Manual Trade Idea journaling
• Multiple entries and exits within a single Trade Idea
• Scale-ins and partial exits
• Custom strategies and confluences
• Custom trading rules with severity levels
• Psychology and execution reviews
• Discipline Score calculation
• Dashboard with performance summaries
• Performance Calendar
• Analytics and performance breakdowns
• Monthly AI Review
• Weekly AI Review
• Individual Trade AI Review
• Screenshot AI Review
• AI Coach conversational interface

We may add, modify or remove features over time. We do not guarantee that every feature will be available permanently or in every subscription tier.

4. No financial advice / no signals

The Mental Edge is an analytics and journaling tool only. It does not provide investment, financial, legal or tax advice. It does not provide trading signals, recommendations or research, and it does not execute trades on your behalf.

Nothing in the service guarantees profitability, positive future performance or the accuracy of any interpretation of your data. AI-generated insights are informational interpretations of the journal data you supply and may be incomplete or incorrect.

You remain solely responsible for all trading and investment decisions you make. Past performance shown in your journal does not indicate future results.

5. Strategy-agnostic AI

AI features analyse your own journal, execution records, trading rules and historical data. The AI is not intended to replace, redefine or validate your personal trading strategy. Any output should be considered a reflection on your recorded data, not an endorsement or optimisation of your strategy.

6. Broker account access (MT4/MT5)

You may optionally connect a MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 account to The Mental Edge. Connection requires your broker server name, account login and investor (read-only) password. The scope of access is strictly read-only: the connection is used exclusively to retrieve account balances, positions, deals and trade history for journaling and analytics.

We never request, accept or store a trading-capable (master) password, and the connection we establish cannot place, modify or close trades, deposits or withdrawals on your broker account. Your investor password is transmitted once to our connection provider to establish the connection and is not retained by The Mental Edge.

You are responsible for ensuring that connecting your broker account in this way is permitted by your broker's or prop firm's own terms, and for the accuracy of the credentials you provide. You may disconnect at any time from Settings → Integrations, which stops all further synchronisation.

7. Imported broker data

Data synced from your broker — including balances, prices, profits and losses, commissions, swaps and position history — is displayed as reported by your broker. We do not independently verify broker-reported figures and are not responsible for errors, delays, gaps or inaccuracies originating from your broker, your trading server or the connection provider.

Analytics, performance metrics and balance histories derived from imported data are only as accurate as the underlying broker feed. Where broker data is missing or unreliable, the affected values may be shown as unavailable rather than estimated. You should not rely on The Mental Edge as your sole record for tax, regulatory or dispute purposes — your broker's official statements remain the authoritative record.

8. AI credit packs

In addition to plan-included AI usage, we may offer one-off purchases of AI credit packs. Where offered, the following terms apply:

• Credit packs are one-time purchases, not subscriptions, and do not renew.
• Credits are consumed when AI features are used and are deducted according to the usage rules in effect at the time of use.
• Purchased credits do not expire while your account remains active, but are forfeited if you permanently delete your account.
• Credits are non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for money.
• Except where a refund is legally required (including statutory consumer withdrawal rights, which remain unaffected), credit-pack purchases are non-refundable once any credits from the pack have been consumed. Unused credits may be refunded at our discretion or where required by law.
• If a payment for a credit pack is refunded or disputed, the remaining credits from that purchase may be reduced or revoked in proportion to the refunded amount.

9. Subscriptions and pricing

The Mental Edge is offered on a subscription basis. Current plans are displayed on the Pricing page and within the application before purchase:

• The Mental Edge Core — €19.99/month
• The Mental Edge Pro — €34.99/month
• The Mental Edge AI — €54.99/month

Subscriptions renew automatically every month until cancelled. Applicable taxes may be charged depending on your location. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices and features may change prospectively; where legally required, we will provide appropriate notice.

AI usage may be subject to fair-use or usage limits depending on your plan. AI features are not described as unlimited.

10. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings or by contacting us. Cancellation prevents the next renewal from occurring. Unless otherwise required by law, access continues until the end of the subscription period you have already paid for.

11. Consumer withdrawal rights

If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, you may have statutory withdrawal or cooling-off rights, including a 14-day withdrawal period where applicable.

Any waiver or limitation of those rights applies only where legally valid and where the required consent or acknowledgement has been obtained. Statutory consumer rights prevail over any conflicting provision in these Terms.

12. Refunds

Outside mandatory statutory rights, subscription charges are generally non-refundable for an already-paid billing period. Refunds that are legally required remain unaffected.

13. Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Danger Zone. Deletion is irreversible. As part of permanent account deletion, any active subscription is cancelled immediately.

Deletion removes your user-owned product and journal data, including Trade Ideas, screenshots, AI reviews and AI Coach conversations, from active application systems. Some records may need to be retained for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, security or payment reasons; these are kept only as long as necessary for the relevant purpose.

14. User content

You retain ownership of your journal data, including Trade Ideas, screenshots, notes, strategies, confluences, trading rules, psychology entries and any other content you upload or create.

By using The Mental Edge, you grant Ankrah Creative Solutions a limited, non-exclusive right to host, process, analyse and display your content solely to provide the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your trading data.

15. Prohibited use

You may not use The Mental Edge to:

• violate any applicable law or regulation;
• access another user's account or data without authorisation;
• abuse, interfere with or attempt to compromise the security of the service;
• bypass subscriptions, AI usage limits or other access controls;
• use automated means to scrape, spam or overload the service;
• upload content you do not have the right to use.

16. AI limitations

AI Coach and Review features analyze your journaled data to surface patterns and prompts for reflection. This is not psychological, medical, or financial advice, and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional guidance.

AI outputs may contain errors, omissions or interpretations that do not match your intent. Important information should be independently verified. AI is not a substitute for professional financial, legal, tax or psychological advice.

17. Availability and modifications

We aim to keep The Mental Edge available, but we do not promise uninterrupted uptime. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, updates or events beyond our control. We may modify the service, features or pricing with reasonable notice where legally required.

18. Intellectual property

The Mental Edge branding, software, interface and original platform content are owned by Ankrah Creative Solutions or its licensors. Your user content remains yours.

19. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable Dutch and EU law, Ankrah Creative Solutions' liability is limited to direct damages caused by intentional or grossly negligent conduct, up to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the event. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.

We are not liable for trading losses, missed opportunities, data entry errors or decisions you make based on analytics or AI output.

20. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for serious misuse, fraud, unlawful activity, security threats or material breach of these Terms. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

21. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted with a new “Last updated” date and, where legally required, with reasonable notice. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

22. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law requires proceedings to be brought in your jurisdiction.
