What is The Mental Edge?

The Mental Edge is a trading journal and analytics tool. You log your trade ideas — strategy, confluences, execution legs, screenshots, psychology and notes — and it turns that into data about your performance, discipline and execution quality.

Does The Mental Edge provide trading signals?

No. There are no signals, no market predictions and no live market data. It analyses trades you have already taken and recorded.

Do I need to change my trading strategy?

Accepted Answer

No. You define your own strategies, confluences and rules. The product measures how consistently you follow your process — it does not tell you which process to use.

Does the AI tell me how to trade?

Accepted Answer

No. The AI reviews are strategy-agnostic: they interpret your own journal — your rules, your execution, your psychology, your history — instead of applying a generic methodology. They do not generate signals or guarantee outcomes.

Can I track prop firm and personal accounts?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can create multiple trading accounts with their own currency and switch between them, or view them together. Monetary totals are only combined when the accounts share a currency. Core includes 1 active account; Pro and AI include unlimited accounts.

Can I log multiple entries and exits?

Yes. One Trade Idea can hold multiple entries, scale-ins, partial exits and a final exit. Realized R is calculated across those legs, and analytics still counts the idea once.

Can I track breakeven trades?

Yes. Outcome (win, loss, breakeven, open) is tracked separately from the financial result, and win rate is calculated as wins ÷ (wins + losses), excluding breakeven and open trades.

Can I upload screenshots?

Yes. You can attach multiple screenshots per trade idea (before, after or other) and view them on the trade detail page. On the AI plan, selected screenshots can be used as execution context alongside your journal data.

How does the Discipline Score work?

When you complete the execution review on a trade idea, the score combines your answers with the trading rules you defined and their severity. It needs at least half of the review questions answered before it produces a score, and it measures process quality only — it is not a prediction of future returns.

What markets can I journal?

Accepted Answer

Any market you trade manually — forex, indices, futures, crypto, equities. You choose your markets and instruments during onboarding and can extend them later in settings.

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Subscriptions are monthly and can be cancelled from the billing section inside the app; access continues until the end of the paid period. Cancelling never deletes your journal data.

Does The Mental Edge connect directly to MT4/MT5?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can connect a MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 account using your investor (read-only) password. The connection syncs your account balance and trade history into the journal automatically. Your investor password is used once to establish the connection and is never stored by us, and we never ask for your trading-capable (master) password — the connection cannot place, modify or close trades. Imported executions become Trade Ideas you still complete yourself: the admin is automated, the reflection is not.
